Check out my first "Thing Link" above. Thing Link is a wonderful took for providing interactive content on the web. I can already imagine several wonderful uses in the classroom! Our hope is that this Thing Link will offer our parents some useful information to assist them in ensuring that their child experiences a successful school year. Parents can also find out many ways to connect with Powdersville Elementary School and stay up-to-date on the latest news and information regarding our school community.
The new school year is rapidly approaching! Stay tuned to this blog for pictures, progress updates and other cool things happening in our classrooms as part of our district's 1:1 iPad initiative that places an iPad in the hands of all students grades 3-12. This adventure begins for students at Powdersville Elementary School on Friday, September 5th when iPads are deployed to all students in our school. We are excited about the many possibilities that this technology initiative will provide for our teachers and students.
Our district staff has made a huge commitment to providing the very best staff development for our teachers to ensure that these devices are used appropriately in classrooms. They have also drastically upgraded our wireless infrastructure to accommodate the many devices that will be used on a day-to-day basis. PVES is certainly proud to be a part of this endeavor. Our superintendent, David Havird, has provided our district with a vision to "transform, discover, and excel" through the use of this technology. Get ready folks...this will be an incredible journey!
